THE WORLDS MOST ACCURATE HIV SELF TEST NOW ON SALE IN THE UK

BioSure HIV Self Test allows you to discreetly determine your HIV status in the comfort of your own home at a time that is convenient to you.

The first legally approved HIV self testing kit has gone on sale in the UK.

According to the producers, BioSURE is new innovative HIV Self Test with  over 99% accuracy from 3 months after suspected exposure to the infection. The test is simple to use and provides a clear & easy to read indication of your HIV status in just 15 minutes.

"BioSure HIV Self Test allows you to discreetly determine your HIV status in the comfort of your own home at a time that is convenient to you. The test is easy to perform, requires only a tiny drop of blood and gives an extremely accurate, simple to read result in 15 minutes."

"BioSure HIV Self Test has gone through extensive scrutiny and is the only product approved for sale in the UK. It is the only self testing device to legally carry the CE mark.  This means you can have complete confidence and trust in your test and your result."

The test may not detect HIV infections that have occurred within the last 3 months.
The test is a single use, disposable device.
If your result is positive you should contact your local sexual health clinic or healthcare professional who will perform a confirmatory HIV test and provide advice.
If your test is negative it does not mean you are definitely not infected with HIV, especially if your exposure may have occurred within the past 3 months. If you engage in activities that increase your risk of exposure to HIV you should test regularly. This test is not suitable if you are receiving highly active anti-retroviral treatment (HAART).
According to the Telegragh, BioSure founder Brigette Bard said its launch is a significant step towards normalising HIV testing.

An estimated 26,000 people in the UK have HIV but are unaware of it, making them unknowingly responsible for the majority of onwards transmissions.

Due to developments in treatments available, HIV is now a manageable disease but late diagnosis can have a devastating impact on health and life expectancy.
