Kenyans Reject Gay Rights



President Barrack Obama clashed with Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta last saturday in Kenya over the mistreatment of gay people.

According to Metro, Standing side by side at their podiums during a press conference  Mr Obama said: "I've been consistent all across Africa on this.

When you start treating people differently because they are different, that's the path whereby freedoms begin to erode".

 However , President Kenyatta disagreed over the issue in front of the press and warned that the issue of gay rights is really a non-issue in Kenya.

 "We want to focus on areas that are day-to-day living for our people". His remarks were applauded by some Kenyan journalists .

Meanwhile blunt President Obama also warned Kenya to desist from its old ways or they are doomed to fall behind the developed world.

 "There is no place in civilised society for early or forced marriage. These traditions may date back centuries but they have no place in the 21st centur.. Treating women like second-class citizens is a bad tradition, it holds you back. There is no excuse for sexual assault or domestic violence".

The US president, has landed in Ethiopia, beginning a two-day stay and becoming the first American leader to visit Africa’s second most populous nation.

President Obama also becomes the first US President to address the African Union and discusses South Sudan War with the regional leaders.
