The BBC to take on Netflix and Amazon to stream shows from other broadcasters

The BBC will take on Netflix and Amazon by revamping its iPlayer service to stream shows from other broadcasters.
According to Metro, the corporation wants viewers to be able to 'binge-watch' programmes on its online service as part of its plans to be an 'open BBC for the internet age'
Director-general Lord Hall said sharing shows with rivals and staff and content with local newspapers would help the BBC to become a 'catalyst for UK's incredible talent'. He warned it was 'inevitable'' some services would be closed or reduced as the BBC shoulders cut in its budge
Lord Hall said one casualty could be its news channels, as the corporation will move from 'rolling news to streaming news'.
