Facebook launches solar drone to bring internet access to remote parts of the world

Facebook has announced the first successful test flight of its solar aero-plane intended to beam internet access down to remote areas without online capacity.

When completed , the high-altitude solar aero-plane built in Someset is part of a fleet of planes that will provide internet to four billion people in Sub-Saharan Africa and other remote regions that do not have internet access.

The drone, designed to fly for three months at a time non-stop, will use lasers to beam internet access down to remote areas without online capacity.

According to London Evening Starndard, Facebook is also working on communications networks allowing rapid transfer of data and lasers that can accurately fire down internet signals without dropping the connection
