President Buhari to return as soon as the doctors give him the green light

"By our visit to London today, the merchants of lies have been put out of business and Nigerians will not buy the garbage they have been selling. All those who look up to fake news can find better use of their time"-Governor Rochas Okorocha.  Photo: Getty

The politicians amuse me a lot. In this country the private life of the leadership doesn't matter to the electorates. so who is decieving who?  Who is selling the garbage?. What this statement means is that nobody knows when the president will return to work.....

The truth is that the president is now incapacitated and may not continue in office. Secondly he's no longer electable  having compromised  his election promises including medical tourism.  A good statesman should put the country first ahead of personal ambition.

The great challenge would have been radical improvement of the nation's health services to cater the needs of the citizens who may not have the opportunity of travelling overseas for medical treatment.

The politicians have not done enough to convince the electorates who want to know more about the president they elected to office. Last time, the president choose to address the country in Hausa language, now we expected a live press conference. I wonder why the politicians wouldn't want elected president to find time to speak directly to the electorates.

'Leading a country requires not just honesty but clarity'. The leadership has failed in this regard and may not be trusted by the electorates in the future.

Everyone now knows that the president hasn't got a good health to continue to seek elective position in the future , so what actually do the politicians want to achieve. This is what we need to find out.

Perhaps it's the politicians who are the merchant of lies and selling the garbage to the electorates.

Uche Okeke.
