Britain has urged Nigerian government to intensify the fight against Boko-Haram Islamic millitants in the North-East of the country. This was disclosed during recent talks with Nigeria's Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo in Abuja with the UK's foreign secretary, Boris Johnson.

The foreign minister highlighted British military's support for Nigeria to curb piracy and defeat terrorism. "Our military links are close and longstanding. This close military co-operation is the cornerstone of our joint efforts to defeat terror and create the conditions for peace, stability and prosperity".

According to iNews, Nigeria is a prime target for Britain's post-brexit trade deals with trade between the two countries estimated to reach £7bn a year by 2030.
